Alina Liviet Santiago Jimenez

PIPC Chair and Representative for Central America and the Caribbean

Alina belongs to Indigenous Group Zapoteco from the community of Ixtlán de Juárez, Oaxaca, Mexico. She is an International Individual Member of the Southern Social Chamber.

She has a degree in business administration with a specialization in International Trade and serves as the President of the Permanent Committee of Indigenous Peoples of the FSC, playing a pivotal role in community project management and FSC certification consulting. Alina is dedicated to advancing sustainable practices and the rights of Indigenous Peoples through effective leadership and advocacy.

She is in charge of the certification of the community’s multisite chain of custody and supports in preparing the Forest Management certification audits. Alina also serves as a consultant for Indigenous communities of the Sierra Norte de Oaxaca in management, project development, accompaniment in the formation and monitoring of communal enterprises, FSC certification, and application of resources managed with national and international organizations.
