Hayro Cunampio Tócamo, originally from the community of Nazaret, Emberá-Wounaan territory, and a resident of Yaviza, Darién, is an Indigenous leader and community manager with extensive experience in sustainable development projects, environmental education, and ecotourism. He holds a degree in Business Administration and Management, as well as diplomas in Higher Education Teaching and in Citizen Power, Integrity, and Resilience.
He has worked as a coordinator and consultant in initiatives supported by FSC-IF, BID Lab, Mar Alliance, APRODISO, and ACICAFOC, in addition to serving as Head of Community Management and Environmental Education at Darién National Park. His career includes training youth, promoting local economies, and implementing agroforestry and conservation projects.
Bilingual in Spanish and Emberá, he combines academic knowledge with the wisdom of his culture, standing out as a sustainable tourism guide, educator, and environmental defender. His commitment is to strengthen community resilience and promote inclusive development that respects nature.
