Efrain is an Indigenous economist from the Guna People of Panama, with extensive experience in applied research, consulting, and territorial development from an intercultural and rights-based approach. He has a solid track record in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of development programs and projects promoted by international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and public entities. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Panama and has postgraduate studies in Public Policy from the University of Chile, Indigenous Rights, Public Management, and Project Management. He has worked directly with indigenous peoples, rural communities, governments, and civil society organizations in Panama, Chile, Central America, and South America. His professional approach integrates indigenous economics, territorial governance, collective rights, sustainable development, indigenous entrepreneurship, and innovation, articulating technical knowledge with the worldview, ancestral practices, and organizational processes of indigenous peoples, promoting their own sustainable and culturally relevant development models.
